Closed-loop storage technology for volatile petroleum products

46EN
Process Description
In the tank filling mode, a mixture of nitrogen and petroleum products vapors, displaced through gas equalization system 1 from tanks 2, is mixed with part of oil and/or petroleum products pumped into tanks 2. Nitrogen is fed for make-up from nitrogen station.
The vapor-liquid mixture is compressed by a positive-displacement pump 3 and fed into receiver 4. In the tank emptying mode, a mixture of nitrogen and petroleum vapors accumulated in receiver 4 is fed under its own pressure through gas equalization system 1 to tanks 2. As oil and/or petroleum products accumulate in receiver 4 with absorbed part of petroleum product vapors, they are also discharged into tanks 2 under their own pressure.

Process features
  • For storage volumes up to 2000 m3
