Revamping of the visbreaking unit for the light distillates production

61EN
Process Description
Feedstock - long residue is mixed with heavy naphtha and first part of residue from delayed thermal conversion of distillates. Produced mixture is sent to thermal residue conversion unit 1, from which heavy conversion residue is fed to vacuum distillation unit 4. Separation vapors from unit 4 are mixed with vapors from delayed thermal conversion unit of distillates 3 and light vacuum gas oil. Produced mixture is sent to unit 2, from which gas, light and heavy naphtha, diesel fraction and heavy gas oil are removed. The latter is mixed with light naphtha from unit 2, heavy vacuum gas oil from unit 4 and the second part of the residue of the delayed thermal conversion of distillates from unit 3. The resulting mixture is sent to the delayed thermal conversion unit of distillates 3, vapors and residue are removed from it, and the residue is separated into two streams. Light and heavy vacuum gas oil, as well as vacuum residue, are removed from unit 4.

Process features
  • Increase in diesel distillate recovery by reducing secondary atmospheric residue production
  • Separation of heavy gas oils and their refining into diesel distillates using the THERMKON process
  • Minimum naphtha production

Technical Specification
  • Feedstock - long residue
  • Feedstock capacity: up to 2.5 MTA
  • Diesel distillate recovery: up to 25% of feedstock
  • Naphtha recovery: 0-4% of the feedstock (depending on chemical composition of feedstock)
